Monticello

Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 7:30 pm

Archangelo Corelli: Variations on LaFolia

The “little mountain” of Monticello was home to America’s founding father and polymath genius, Thomas Jefferson and home to the largest collection of music in the Western Hemisphere during Jefferson’s residence at this famed estate. As an amateur violinist, Jefferson would have hosted many musical soirées at Monticello, and in all likelihood, performed several of the works you will hear on tonight’s concert.
