Impressionism
Program I:
Thursday, June 18, 2009; 7:30 pm
Debussy: String Quartet
Turina: Prayer of the Bullfighter
Ravel: String Quartet
Impressionist artists sought to capture a
moment in light and nature through their paintings. As we capture an exquisite
moment of light and nature at Lakewold Gardens, we’ll experience the sensuality
of the string quartets of Debussy and Ravel, with an exotic trip to Seville for
“impressions” of a bullfight!
Artists: Jennifer Caine and Cecilia
Archuleta violins; Laura Renz viola; Page Smith, cello

Love and Obsession

Kreisler: Schön Rosmarin, Liebesfreud, Liebesleid
Schoenberg: Phantasy for Violin and Piano
Franck: Sonata in A Major for Violin and Piano
César Franck wrote his beautiful violin
sonata as a wedding gift to his friend, the violinist Eugene Ysaÿe. Join the
husband and wife duo Sarah Schultz Hancock and Lee Hancock in a program of love
and obsession—up close and personal!

Hancock, piano
